Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals come with a Rental Agreement that will be provided at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria

- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Prestwich, drivers must be a minimum of 21 years old. Age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. 3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Prestwich office. A deposit might be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining payment and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pick-up. All pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and includes applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions securely handled by trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. Upon return, the vehicle should be in the same condition as when it was picked up, with allowances made for normal wear and tear. Any new damages will be evaluated and billed appropriately. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as collected; failure to do so will result in refueling charges. If you expect to return the vehicle late, please contact us right away, as additional fees may apply. You will be responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or charges accrued during your rental, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms is solely your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any activities that pose a risk. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized parties is not allowed. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, adhere to passenger and weight limits, and refrain from driving outside the designated geographical areas unless authorized.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Prestwich is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our liability for any claim will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to claims related to death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
