Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle requires:

• To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Prestwich, you must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required and must have been held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment information and a security deposit are also necessary, along with any other specific requirements listed in the Rental Agreement.

Booking and Payments

• Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Prestwich location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining payment and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All charges are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards through trusted payment processors for secure transactions.

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

• At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, acknowledging that normal wear and tear is acceptable. Insurance and Responsibility

Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial risk. It is beneficial to evaluate these options thoroughly. You are liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless you have opted for extra coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.

6. Modifications and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited uses of the vehicle:

• Usage of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, or off-road driving is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must not be used for purposes beyond its intended design. Exceeding the specified passenger or weight limits is not permitted. Driving outside the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Prestwich is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business that may result from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the total rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.

9. Local Legal Framework

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
